The museum is dedicated to the preservation, documentation and promotion of South Omo cultural and natural heritage. It showcases cultural artefacts of various ethnic groups ranging from clothing, adornments, household items, ritual paraphernalia, musical instruments etc. The museum offers a collection of ethnographic films and texts on sociology and anthropology.

Entrance fees and opening hours
The museum is open every day from 8:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 17:30 (International time) or from 2:00 to 6:00 and from 8:00 to 11:30 (Ethiopian time).

Gift shop
Handcrafts, household materials and jewellery from the communities of South Omo are available for sale at our gift shop. For each item sold in our gift shop the communities receive 50% of the total price.
